How does SmartCells Cushioning work?
SmartCells is our patented cushioning technology that is made up of cells that work together in unison like a spring. The cellular structure compresses under impact to absorb energy (protecting joints and reducing fall-related injuries) but remains stable underfoot to provide the necessary support for balance and high-intensity movements.
How does this compare to standard rubber gym flooring?
Standard rubber is often designed primarily to protect the subfloor from dropped weights. SmartCells are specifically designed to protect the person. We offer superior energy return and fatigue reduction, which allows for longer training sessions and faster recovery times compared to traditional hard rubber.
Are these products suitable for geriatric therapy or fall prevention?

Do SmartCells products contain latex?
No. All SmartCells products are made from 100% synthetic rubber and are completely latex-free. This makes them safe for use in many physical therapy, physical training, or recovery applications.
Is the surface too soft for heavy lifting or high impact training?
Not at all. Unlike traditional foam mats that can feel “mushy,” SmartCells are engineered to be stable. They provide a solid lateral base for movements like squats or lunges while still offering significant pressure relief for plyometrics and standing therapy sessions.

SmartCells are non-porous and resistant to liquids. You can clean them using standard household or gym cleaners (non-bleach) and a mop or microfiber cloth. For clinical settings, most hospital-grade disinfectants are perfectly safe to use.
