Since 1990, SATECH, Inc. has been manufacturing SmartCells® Cushioning Technology with a simple mission: improve life by helping to reduce pain, increase performance, and prevent injuries.
From manufacturing floors and distribution centers to healthcare facilities, training environments, and retail spaces, millions of workers experience the physical toll of standing and moving on hard surfaces every day. Our History
1990
Establishing Fall Protection Standards
In the early 90s, we led the effort to establish standards for fall protection in playgrounds, patenting the SmartCells structure for surfaces such as helicopter landing pads, sports surfacing, and playground cushioning.
The 90s
New Products. Innovative Leadership.
During the 1990s, we focused on improving athletes’ safety and performance, incorporating post-consumer waste and recycled rubber in the fabrication process. Our innovation efforts garnered broad media attention including a CNN documentary and a feature article in National Geographic.
The Early 2000s
Reducing Standing Pain and Fall Risks
During the early 2000s, we created Anti-Fatigue mats and flooring to reduce standing pain for workers and introduced bedside fall protection mats and flooring for senior living environments. Our technology was chosen for a world-class clinical trial for compliant flooring in assisted living facilities.
2010 - 2014
Expansion and High End Outcomes
We expanded the reach of our SmartCells® Technology into training and athletics. We tested and developed a line of volleyball drill mats for many Division I volleyball teams, including multiple NCAA championship teams.
2015 - 2020
SmartCells Under Everyone’s Feet
The acquisition of Fastech Labs enables us to bring our legendary cushioning technology into the custom orthotic market, leading to the development of our new line of prefab insole products ZELUS.
2020 - 2025
All-Encompassing Safety
Since 2020, SmartCells® has shifted toward providing holistic anti-fatigue solutions that protect employees in any environment, expanding to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions including mats, runners, custom solutions, and insoles.
